Moreleta Spruit

The Moreleta spruit hiking/MTB trail in Pretoria. Difficult to find the route start. Sources indicate that the route starts at Fairy Glen Nature Reserve. Did not find the entrance there but found an entry through a hole in a fence near Lynwood street.

The route is not really suited for mountain biking and should rather be attempted on foot. Rather try the Groenkloof Nature Reverve mountain bike tracks if you feel like cycling.

Known GPS Track Limitations:

Did not manage to find the route start or the end. Had to climb through fences and carry our bikes on a few occasions. Finally gave up when the route reached a construction site. The holes in the fences that we climbed through may not be there anymore. Please use the recorded route and track information with caution.

Dear James,

I drove passed the area where the hole use to be a few days ago. It seems that they have fixed it.
I marked a place on the map where you would be able to gain easy access to the route as "Preferred Beginning". You can try starting from there. Alternatively you can simply follow the road next to the Moreleta Spruit. At some point or another you will find a place where you can enter the route.
